Google fun: June in review

When was the last time you googled yourself? Several years ago when I googled my name, I was immediately directed to the online rap sheet of several-time felon Jamie Richardson. The same thing happened in several job application. They’d type in my name and the first thing that popped up was this gentleman. Made for some interesting temporary freak outs considering that my application usually involved working with kids.

Now, when I google myself I find, well, myself.

It kinda feels cool to see my name in online forums from Babble to Mamapedia to Huff Post and then in print publications from Chicken Soup for the Soul to Dallas Child Magazine to Thrive. I was even featured as a guest blogger on one of my favorite blogs yesterday. (I live my life vicariously through Shawn way more often than I care to admit.) Top that with a  book on Amazon, and I am blown away. My writing, my voice, and my passions are out there and being read.

So thank you to each of you who have been following my life and my writing. I appreciate your support more than you know.

I’m currently working on a set of short(ish) stories for the upcoming holidays. One for Halloween, one for Thanksgiving, and several for Christmas. I am also writing for several blogs, submitting to magazines, and working on my second book. Oh… and raising three kids. No worries though, hubby and I are getting a couple’s vacation in just a few weeks to celebrate our 15th anniversary. Writing time, us time, and kid-free nights. Woohoo!

Let me ask, of the things of mine that you have read so far, what have you enjoyed the most? You are my core readership. Your feedback is very valuable to me. I’m still trying to figure out where my style and voice work the best. Comment below or shoot me an email.
