Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the land,
All the mommies were hoping kids would sleep on demand.
I tucked mine in bed with love and with care,
Each one a reminder of the gray in my hair.

The children were squirming like worms in their beds,
With images of DSs filling their heads.
And me with my coffee and a slap on the rear,
Went up to the attic to snatch up the gear.

When out in the living room arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the garage to see what was the matter.
Away to the stairs I flew like a flash,
Tore open the closet and hid all the stash.

The light from the bulb gave off such a glow
I saw the giddy smile from the child down below.
And, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But all three of my children standing right here.

“Is it yet morning or are we too quick?”
I knew in a moment I needed a trick.
More rapid than eagles my words they came,
I whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
